Hill Top View of Pikes Peak
The painting above is one of my latest plein air paintings. The painting was done at the top of one of the front range mountains in my subdivision, from a roadside area of Rebecca Overlook. The view is pristine and spectacular and a favorite of many of my neighbors. The subdivision was subdivided from a ranch owned by the late Cliff Sodenberg and his lovely wife Becky who just happen to spend her summers living next door to us. The Trout Creek Ranch subdivision is surrounded by Pike National Forest, with beautiful mountain landscapes in every direction. This particular area is one of only a very few in our neighborhood where you can see Americans Mountain, Pikes Peak in the distance. The painting was purchased by a neighbor, Kathy and her retired Navy veteran hubby...thanks to them for taking time to look at the art immediately recognizing this spot as one of their hiking favorites!
